Does anyone have one...?

Had a ESCS last time and I was told i had a "heart-shaped" uterus. My friend told me I'd be unable to have a natural birth.

Any advice would be ace, thanks.

I do - but very mildly. Had a forceps delivery with DS, but that was more to do with other factors I think.

Did they say how severe the malformation was? I think that there are lots of degrees of it. I would have thought that the person who saw it would have told you if they thought that it would cause you problems in the future.

Your friend is wrong if she thinks that anyway with a bicornuate uterus cannot have a natural birth.

Are you pregnant now? I was told that I had it at my 12 week scan.

Thanks each. Yup I think it's pretty severe, I've had quite a few issues with it Sad

My friend is from the States, so she's going on her homeland knowledge not the NHS!

Spoken with my GP today, she said she would be very surprise if i had a natural birth again. DD was a very large baby, so that didn't help!

Hi Jaffa - probably not at all helpful, but I have Uterus Didelphys - two wombs, two cervixes and a vaginal septum coming down giving the appearance of two vaginas. I have been told that if I get PG, there is an 89% chance of having a c-section. I have also been told that breach and pre-term labour is more common. I am in the UK also, but not covered under the NHS on my island (Guernsey). I don't know if you are interested, but there is a support group on facebook that I am on - abnormalities of the Uterus - and there are women there with uterine malfunctions who have had babies and are happy to post their experiences. Hope all is well and good luck :)
