itchy rash after birth

I have an itchy, red, raised and in some places blistering rash which is pretty much all over me. My baby was born last week on Thursday and the Dr's and MW's seemed to think this could be an allergic reaction to one or some of the drugs they gave me during and after birth.

I'm being treated with Piriton. Has anyone else had this? Did you know what caused it, how long it took to go any anything that may help it?

I felt very itchy during labour due to the epidural that I had, but it only lasted a short while after the birth.

Do you remember how long? I'm nearly a week post birth now.

Oh not that long. Only about a day I think.

The same happened to me after my c-section, it lasted 2 weeks and was given Piriton and E45 itch cream - none f which worked! Drs were not sure but it was either the epidural or the anti DVT drugs I was given. Hope you feel better soon as it was unbearable

thanks for your posts, blackbutterfly sorry to hear it lasted 2 weeks but hopefully that means I'm 1 week down, it's bloody unbearable though!
