Numbness after EMCS

Hi all, I had a EMCS on 4th Jan as DD was undiagnosed breech, the whole thing was a fairly unpleasant experience but we coped ok despite the few plans i had for the birth going out of the window at the last minute! Now i'm recovering well and the only thing really bugging me is my numb bum! (I have diclofanec for pain relief, thankfully!) I'm finding it really hard to get comfy on our sofa, does any one have any tips as midwife says it can take 6 weeks for numbness to go away and i dont fancy sitting awkwardly for that long...
Thanks in advance :)

Just to clarify, its my lower back/bum kind of area that's numb, and mainly on the left side for some reason!

I had the same thing! I found bfing lying down was better than sitting. It does go away but I can't quite remember when mine went ( a couple of weeks I think).

Congratulations on the new arrival!

I experienced numbness on my lower stomach after I had an EMCS with DD. It still hadn't returned fully when DS was born just over 3 years later Shock
It doesn't cause pain or discomfort in any way though.

I had areas of numbness for about eight weeks after my emcs with dd (12 weeks old).

Thanks Booboostoo, i'll have to experiment with lying down bfing!

Yeah i've also got numbness on my lower stomach around the scar but its not causing me as much bother, just a weird sensation really, but as i'm spending a lot of time sat on my bum it's become really uncomfortable to sit normally... just hope it goes away sooner rather than later!

me too amandaWJ i could sit comfy cause my bum was numb and hurt, i could stand well cause my back hurt. its just not nice, but will get better in a few days. i dont remember being in that much pain after a week (ish) i had mt cs nearly 6 months ago and the numbness on my stomach drives me mad. it is the strangest sensation and not nice if you ask me!
