Utterly normal, mine was 14m ago and I can't feel much. It can stay like this for years apparently

chocolateshoes · 13/01/2006 20:07

Thanks Beansprout. Still have huge roll of flab too....any tips??

my gp said some people can have a numb area for years, and in some cases the numbness is there for life

sick-ups are the only cure for that ledge of flab...I finally motivated myself in november (2 years post-CS!!) and the results are pretty good so far, I do anywhere between 30 to 50 a day, although can also go for a week without doing any

Gloworm · 13/01/2006 20:35

SIT-ups not sick-ups

I have had 3 sections, the last was just over 3 years ago, and right at the sides of my scar the skin is still numb.

beansprout · 13/01/2006 20:50

My tip is to not worry about it! As dh kindly says, I now have the body of a woman who has been pregnant and given birth and that is nothing to be ashamed of.

mummygow · 13/01/2006 20:51

dd now 3 and ds 11wks both sections and that horrible feeling still there. Mysister has ds, 7 and ds, 5 both sections and she says she still has that feeling (we discussed it about 2 weeks ago)

going4potty · 13/01/2006 21:01

hi, had c-section over 3 yrs ago only got back feeling approx 6 months ago, apparently normal.

Aloha · 13/01/2006 21:08

I hear it is normal. Not my experience. Re roll of flab, um eat less move more (and believe me, I need to take my own advice )

biglips · 13/01/2006 21:30

mine still abit numb too (baba is 15 mths old) so it can take up to 3 yrs to fully recover and sit ups are the best thing (or swimming)

northender · 13/01/2006 21:41

Mine took a couple of years after 1st cs but after 2nd it wasn't really a problem (the numbness that is, the roll of flab is still there unfortunately)!!

womba1 · 13/01/2006 21:48

I had a c-section almost 3 years ago and the area around my scar has been numb eversince.
However, i'm currently 36 weeks pregnant, and lo and behold, i'm starting to regain some feeling in that general area.. just when i don't need or want it!
My gp and mw have assured me it's absolutey nothing to worry about... some women regain feeling, others don't.

totallyfloaty35 · 13/01/2006 23:12

hi all..i had a c-section TEN years ago and area around my scar still numb,i get the impression its going to stay that way now

chocolateshoes · 14/01/2006 10:37

Well, am relieved to hear that its all quite normal. Looks like I'll have to start some sit-ups & maybe invest in an exercise DVD!
