Dc4 was due on 22nd. I have severe spd so consultant said I could be induced on edd. I didn't want an unnecessary induction so I've had two sweeps so far, and third is today.

I've been bouncing on my ball, drinking rlt, taking epo and bathing & massaging with clary sage.

Can you pls recommend anything else? Really don't want an induction, hb planned, and dh is self employed so will be back quite promptly after New Year. Starting to feel a bit panicked.

Belly dance vigorously. It worked for me. Good luck Smile

Can you get hold of an acupuncturist? If you are anywhere near Oxfordshire, I can pm you a good one.

I ate a whole pineapple on the evening before I was due and labor started at 1 the next morning. I managed to burn my tongue though from all the pineapple.

Ripe figs were recommended to me by a mw who swore they worked. I didn't find out as DD2 arrive the next day!

I'm guessing trying sex is not a helpful suggestion if your pelvis is v sore, nor the side-stepping on the stairs/long walks.

I did have acupuncture/moxibustion with DD1 - didn't seem to bring her any quicker but did help my sciatica..

Depending on how desperate you are, castor oil? (Have no idea re:pros & cons btw)

I'll phone round for acupuncture in the morning. Thank you for the offer mother but I'm in Hampshire.

I'm pretty desperate now as booked in for an induction on Friday. I know can refuse but for practical reasons I need this baby out. Dh is self employed and has to go back to work on either the 3rd or 5th. Can't afford him to be off any longer, or lose the work.

Feeling v tearful about it all Sad.

O harassed it'll all be ok. With dc4 I had to have him out before sil's wedding. It was a big pressure, but I did it (at home). Google debra betts acupressure (on phone so can't link) to find some of the points that might help. A treatment of acupuncture will be a good chance to relax if nothing else.

And a good cry won't do any harm.

It'll be ok Smile. Lots of emotion can be a sign of impending labour. Let us know when he or she arrives.

Tie a scarf tightly around your hips under your bump to help stabilize your hip bones. This will help with the pain.

The baby will come when it is ready!
