'Present' for hospital?

My sister is going into hospital to be induced next week, it's her first baby.
I would like to get her something useful to take to the hospital that she will be able to use/wear while she's there. Or would something nice to take to the hospital after the birth be better? Not having any children myself - and no experience of them - I have no idea, so I was hoping I may get some good suggestions here. Thank you very much.

take her some food! nice sandwiches, cakes, fresh fruit....hospital food is generally crap.

Food and drink.

Decent slippers or flip flops for the shower.

A big fluffy dark coloured dressing gown.

Something to read although she might well be too busystaring at her new baby!

What a kind thought. How about:

some good chocolate
eye mask and ear plugs if she has to stay overnight in a shared ward
yummy toiletries

when i went in to be induced with my 1st my sis got me a dvd boxset, idea was i could watch some while waiting to be induced, waiting for it to take effect etc as i had a mini dvd player i was taking in. although i didnt get round to watching in hospital but did come in very handy once we were home for all the time sat on the sofa breastfeeding

Thank you all so much for sharing your ideas. I hadn't even considered taking in some decent food but I think that's a great idea.

All those ideas are lovely. It's a small thing but I'd have loved a paper fan. I was so hot through labour and on post natal ward.

For some reason when I think of hospitals I always think of grapes! Nice sweet ones, cooled in the fridge, mmmm (must buy grapes....)
