I'm having a whinge because I am totally naffed off with my community midwives.
Birthing pool was here delivered here yesterday and so was drugs delivery meant to be. Except the drugs didn't turn up.
Called the birthing centre to be told that they had no gas and air in stock 
and they couldn't tell me when it would be in stock and delivered so I would either have to hang on or come in if something happened! WTF??!! I've only been telling them since April that I was having a home water birth and then nagging for the past 4 weeks to get the community midwives out to home visit me to order the damn drugs!!
MW ordered drugs last Thursday which is apparently way too late and not protocol. I kicked up a pretty major fuss as I don't anticipate getting to full term (am 37+3 now) which I have also been saying to them, and got the drugs delivered today as the PCT realised they'd dropped a bollock on this one. Now a full investigation is going to happen so this doesn't happen to someone else.
I wouldn't mind but I have said from the off what I wanted this time round. I've had several community MWs try to dissaude me from a home birth which annoyed me, a junior doctor tell me I needed to get a consultants permission to have a home birth (I cancelled the appointment as I told them to naff off too), and seeing as I have a 20mo toddler, parents that live 2 hours away and friends who work in the week - I have no babysitter if I needed to go in to hospital anyway! First birth was 4 hours start to finish so expect this to be quick therefore no time for mucking about: fill up the pool and off we go...
Sorry for long rant but what is wrong with these people!!? I shall now calm down as I did get contractions in the night last night which I think was partially stress related but I think I'm entitled to be pissed off!
