labour or just wind?!

I'm 9 days overdue and fed up. Had strong BHs all day but nothing more. Midwife says upper cervix is closed but the lower bit is opening and thinning. All night I've had irregular pains and 2 trips to the loo for a poo. Pains last abput 45s and have been every 15mins to every 2mins ie not regular. Thing is, it's my 2nd but DD was by emcs after induction and I never got past 3cm so I've truly no idea whether this is true labour or wind!

I'm having a home birth with an independent mw so calling her is no problem but I feel a bit foolish as I really am not sure. I have a high pain threshold, so am also worried I'm not taking things seriously! If I move the pain lessons but doesn't completely go away.

Thoughts?

Go and have a warm bath then see if pains are still there after, you could always phone maternity ward and explain the pains to them and i'm sure they wont mind you going in to be checked over. Fingers crossed its the start of labour, good luck xxx

Just saw 'you are having a home birth', in that case maybe phone the midwife and ask.

Thanks for comments. Things hotted up a bit and have had 2 bloody shows, so midwife on her way!!
