Sweep request

Can you request a sweep? I'm 39+6 and gave 1 sweep already, am aiming for a VBAC. I'm nit seeing consultant now until next Friday, am I able to ring the community MW and ask them to do another sweep earlier in the week if this one has no effect? Don't want to wait til Friday as they may not do one at that apt and then I'd have to wait until the following week in which they have a section provisionally booked for me.

Yes, you can naomi79. They don't recommend doing too many due to risk of infection, I had 2 when my dd was overdue and I was desperate to get things going. Unfortunately neither had any effect (not want you want to hear-sorry!) but you can certainly ask. Phone your midwife and get an appointment hun. I hope it all works out for you xxx
