Could you ask to see your notes first? That may give you an idea as to what happened. You could then ask what errors were made, and how they will be rectified perhaps?

Sorry, don't really know but bumping for you.

What's the appointment for? Are you well now? How long ago was it etc?

I also had a 4th degree tear and subsequent operations. Feel free to pm me and I'll help in any way I can.

It is staggering that a tear that extends not only to the rectum, but also to the anal canal could be missed.

What is the purpose of the appointment? Is it to go over birth notes, or is for treatment icw dealing with the consequences if the tear, or was that some time in the past and now you are stuck with him/her in a subsequent pregnancy?

Following of dd 8 months ago the whole tear was not noticed im due a colostomy/repair after xmas with rate of success only 50/60 success rate my consultant has already said it almost certainly went unnoticed at the time of delivery.

Forgot to say I asked for the appointment so the DR can tell me face to face why it happened and for my consultant to have a look down below
