Stitches 7 months on. tmi alert!

just over 7 months ago i gave birth to my beautiful baby girl and had to have a fair few stitches both inside and out afterwards. It all went pretty smoothly, they seemed to heal well without infection.

i became a single mum shortly after so didnt get much action for a while and nobody was down there too look iyswim! I got the odd twinge until a few months ago, when i stood up too fast or moved funny but had no other problems and ive not had any of these twinges for a while.

Anyway, now ive got a new boyfriend and obviously in the first flush of romance there is a fair bit of sex which is great but afterwards im really sore and there are tiny bits of blood around the worst bits. I have no STIs and neither does my boyfriend and ive never had a problem with this before so the only thing i can think is the stitches.

has anyone had anything like this before?

thanks x

It sounds like a GP and gynae referral might be worthwhile. I have friends who have needed a little surgical tidy up before sex can be comfortable again, especially after a lot of stitches. Also consider extra lubrication and scar massage. A womens health physio may be able to advise if that service is available in your local hospital.

I was in the same boat op. No action until new man came on the scene when dd was 12months. I had copious stitches first time and a restitch 3months postnatal. She's now almost 18months and I still find it painful despite various medics checking. I know it's because I tense up. I adore my bf and so does my daughter but I just can't enjoy penetration Sad
