Keep moving, moving, moving doing anything you can think of to keep moving!

MuddlingThru · 31/12/2005 14:03

I was desparately fed up of being pregnant so went for a 6 mile hike just 3 days before my due date. The next day I had a show. The following day I gave birth.

Rach69 · 31/12/2005 14:11

Sex maybe - injection of prostagladins? Moving is good, but on the other hand she doesn't want to exhaust herself before labour.

feastofsteven · 31/12/2005 17:26

sex, walking, curry, pineapple.

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 31/12/2005 17:28

nothing. go to bed. it will come when it comes and none of it really works - sleep is more important!

Any more news-very interested as i was in labour New Years Eve and gave birth New Years Day

lilianna · 31/12/2005 22:04

walk up and down the stairs

lilianna · 31/12/2005 22:05

keep moving now so the contractions continue

lilianna · 31/12/2005 22:06

wishing your friend good luck

Panyanpickle77 · 31/12/2005 22:28

A good strong orgasm works a treat! I feel it helped me have 2 very quick labours (first 4 1/2hours, and the second 1 1/2, both without pain relief). Good luck

WhatAcow · 01/01/2006 10:16

do you know, mrsaek is onto something there; i did the same thing and had identical birth experiences. spooky

WhatAcow · 01/01/2006 10:18

theres chemicals in sperm which help ripen you up and get things going.

apparently walking up and down the satirs sideways helps get a flagging labour going again. have a strong person around to help you stay upright in case of sudden strong contractions tho.

WhatAcow · 01/01/2006 10:18

satirs? stairs.

lilianna · 01/01/2006 10:25

bumpy car ride or swaying side to side this pushes the baby further down into place.
Also with each contraction push gently with it as each contractions pushes the baby down you will be pushing the baby down that extra little bit. (i did it with all 3 labours they were quite quick just dont push too hard.)

Fantastic-our local paper did the same and an interview too .We got some great photos from them and it was lovely to keep the newpaper cuttings!

Make sure she asks them for copies of photos for herself!
