I'm booked in for my section tomorrow morning and really not sure what I should or shouldn't be eating today! The booking in nurse said I should eat as much as possible right up to midnight, while others have said keep it light and liquid based ie soup! Anyone have any advice/ experiences to share? X

For my 3 sections I just ate normally the day before, nothing spicy or likely to upset my stomach but otherwise whatever I fancied!

Just eat what you would normally eat. If you change your eating habits at the last minute, or eat something very unusual, you are just giving your body something extra to cope with.

It's worth remembering, you may have a long wait - scheduled C sections can be bumped down the list if emergencies need to be dealt with. It's not a big deal, it happened to me - but I recommend taking food in with you, just light snacks, for afterwards. If you have a long wait, you might be v hungry afterwards.
