got a sweep next week, i'm not scared about it hurting. But i am just getting very scared now...
I want baby no2 here now as i am a lil fed up, but scared there is no doubt about it.
I'd like to here your experiances of after having a sweep. Like what happened after? did it work after a previous c section? because if this does not work for me i have to have another c section.
hope you are all well :)

Hi, I had a number of sweeps ( can't remember but 2 or 3 with each) with both of my DCs - from which you can deduce that the first did not work each time. However, I did start having contractions shortly after the third sweep with my second child when I was 6 days over. Had not had a c section previously so cannot comment on that I'm afraid. They are pretty unpleasant as I remember it, not exactly painful but pretty uncomfortable. I'm 37 weeks pregnant now with no 3 and would definitely have one again if I go over, if only to feel like I may be doing something productive. Good luck with whatever happens Smile

I had one when I was 8 days overdue. It was quick and not too bad but I'd had no internal exams before then so tbh it felt a little... Ahem... Personal.

The midwife told me I was 3 cms already which gave me confidence that something was happening.... Went into labour just over 24 hours later.

I am no expert, but I don't think it has any bearings on a sweep. Best thing for me is the midwife can see if things are on the move down there.

Good luck!

thankyou both so much :) they wont let me go over because of the previous c section so if it doesnt work it will be another. Striktly not allowed over 40 weeks. kind of a good thing aswell though. i'll be sure to come back on here and let everyone know how it went.
They did try to induce me when i was 38 weeks with my first and tried for 3 days straight as i was diabetic in pregnancy and it didnt work obviously had to have c section as it was safer for me and bubba. i remember it being uncomfortable but not painful :) so i'm not so scared of that i guess..
im just also wondering if it didnt work with all the gels and everything then what will this time, even though i know its different each time ya know. I dont have diabeties this time thank god. But because of the previous scar i can only have the induction manually, no gels because it increases the risk of the scar rupturing.
Anyway would love to here more views on this and experiances after the sweep. I'll be sure to let you guys know thankyou for your time reading my thread :) x hope everyone is well x

just to let you guys know the sweep didnt work out, i wasnt favourable and then i was admitted to the hospital because of my blood pressure being borderline, i was supposed to be only staying for the night and ended up staying in longer as my blood pressure stayed on boderline. after a week and one day, the doctors not wanting to enduce me in anyway because of previous c section, they mw came up and told me not to eat just incase of anything.
the doctor came up and told me she didnt want to use this knew way of inducing called a prostaglandin or something along those lines, and said i had a trace of preclampsia in my blood they needed baby out that day, so i had a c section and our baby boy zack arrived at 6/11/11 at 11:34am :) 39 weeks and 1 day and we are fit and healthy now x
