2nd time around.... are these pre-labour symptoms?

Hi! I'm at 37 +6 with my second child, and I cannot remember what I was doing at 38 weeks with DD...

For the past day or so, I've been having mild crampy feelings that seem to get worse at night, exhaustion, and mild backache. Haven't had a show (I had a big, obvious one for DD), nesting, diarrhea or noticeable drop.... although I am feeling the pressure in my pelvis when I stand or bend over. Is it possible I'm pre-labour? Or in early labour?!?! Or is it just something I ate?

My husband is away on business in France all of next week, and I really need my baby to stay put until at least 1/10 or I'm going to have to do it on my own. If this is pre-labour, how long might it last for #2? I'm interested in hearing your experience!

I'm currently 40+1 and have been having these sort of symptoms since about 36/37 weeks...so maybe they will last a long time for you too.

Yeah I had been having similar symptoms from about 38 weeks and am now 40 + 6. So I think you are OK.

How quick could your DH get back from france if need be? Could your mother or friend be back up just in case?

Thanks for the advice..... I'm feeling more relaxed now, and anyway the cramping seems to have let up & baby has crawled back up under my ribcage, so perhaps we are in for a longer wait. Sheesh.

I hope that praying baby does not come early doesn't mean I'll go too long overdue!

Elderberries: My DH could get back from France in a couple of hours (3 maybe? That is, unless baby comes in the middle of the night in which case he'll have to wait until morning for the first train/flight) so hopefully we'll be okay. I've got someone to look after DD, and honestly, my biggest fear is that baby will come really fast and I'll have to do it without any pain relief like I had to do last time (grrr! definitely not my first choice!), but I don't think there is anything I can do about that.
