You, ahem, had sex again? I had a cs 5 weeks ago and am due my 6 week check soon. I feel fine but wondered about internal healing etc. Also, contraception...I don't think you can take the pill if breast feeding - is that right?

I think the guidelines are if you feel its ok, then it is ok. You can go on the mini pill if breastfeeding, but watch how you go. Lots of people (including me) felt really anxious on it, especially with hormones everywhere.

Can't remember how long. Definitely after check though as I was bleeding for ages.

Months! I bled for ages, then DD woke a lot at night for a really long time and I was knackered and had no energy for sex.

I took the pill whilst bf (Cerazette).

ThatllDoPig · 17/09/2011 22:17

Cerazette was the one I took that sent me a bit loopy. Like having really bad PMT all the time.

5 weeks after EMCS was a bit uncomfortable starting off, but once we got going it was fine. It did take 5 months for everything to feel fully back to normal inside though, but sex was still pleasurable and not painful.

I didn't get my periods back until DD was six months. The pill does not agree with me so we used the withdrawal method. Now pregnant again (planned) and DD is 2.3.

Don't recommend withdrawal method unless partner has very good control and you don't mind another baby if you do have a slip up though.

Pill is fine while breastfeeding, but you could talk to GP/HV about alternatives if you are not sure it is right for you.

I didn't get on with Cerazette either and stopped bothering with it after about 2 weeks - seems a common theme with that particular brand. I just mentioned it to demonstrate that there are pills that you can take which bf - whether they will suit you or not is a different matter!
