Retained placenta/assisted third stage

Posted in pregnancy as well -I had this with last 2 dc - I am assuming will have to have assistance (therefore stay in hospital due to needing epidural/risk of blood loss). Anyone had different experience (ie not had retention after experiencing it before).

I am not unduly concerned - just trying to plan for childcare etc if I stay in.

I had it with dc2 after the midwife pulled the cord and it snapped. With dc3 my midwife told me not to have the injection but they made me. The placenta did come out fine though.
