Birth pool liners

Does anyone have any spare birth pool liners for sale. Have got my pool from first time round but no liner and didn't realise they cost so much! Was just wondering if someone had any (unused!) lying around from a planned homebirth that didn't happen.

quite a few people sell them on ebay, but even on ebay, so long as still sealed they normally go for very close to RRP

I know that's what I found so I thought I'd try on here!

Have you tried Biz-E-kids.com. They sell pool liners for £20.

Not sure how much you were hoping to get one for....but thats where we bought ours....

Do you have your own pool? if so why would you need a liner? just fill the pool a couple of days in advance and use some sterilizer tabs. I had my own inflatable pool I used for my 3 births but never bothered with a liner.

all the birth pools recommend you use a fresh sterile liner for each birth.

also surely its much much easier to clean up afterwards when everything is contained and once the water is drained the last bits can be rolled up and binned.

they do not recommend giving birth in a pool without a liner if the pool has ever been used without a liner before. (ewww!)]

as for a couple of sterilising tablets.... it took 375ml of sterilising solution to sterilise my HOSEPIPE at the weekend. (and over 50 litres of water, which was just a few inches in the bath)

I wouldnt want my baby born into a milton pool.... and how do you know when 2 days before actually is? When you have a window of over a month for birth?

sorry, didn't mean to go against the advice you have been given. Just saying what I did.
Maybe I wasn't very clear I didn't mean to use the sterilizing liquid to actually give birth into just to clean out the pool at some point beforehand just as you say you have done with the hosepipe nannyl.
Any idea that your baby is going to come out into lovely clean water obviously wasn't at my births . Not wanting to give to much info but by the time my dc's were born there was a soup of almost every bodily fluid you can imagine! lol.
I don't mean to confuse anyone the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and relaxed with your own set up what ever that is.

also most of our bodily fluids are sterile at the point they exit our bodies so not as gross as it sounds.... and with all the water at least they will be very dilute.... and baby has spent his / her whole existence in amniotic fluid and weeing into it too so probably at least as clean as baby is used to!

Msmuesli, how much sterilisng solution did you need for your pool out if interest?
Surely really quite a lot?

I bought my inflatable pool from the NCT site, which after using it for three births (and now as a paddling pool) worked out much cheaper than hiring one each time.
I have just checked and they no longer do the one I had which came with huge sterilizing tabs of which I used three. I think they were the same type that you use for hot tubs etc. But have done a quick search and it seems that if you have to buy them they wont work out much cheaper than the liners they sell on the NCT site so maybe a bit irrelevant.

My pool is unused but 2nd hand if that makes sense. Had my midwife visit yesterday and she said I absolutely had to have a sterile unused liner if I wanted to give birth in it. The second is just nice to have in case I want a lounge in it prior to labour.
cheekyginger thanks for that but unfortunately for my pool the liners are still £25!

When I got a BPIAB liner they had some for £15 because they'd printed the wrong water height markings on them. Wonder if they still have those? Probably not as it was 20 months ago.
Otherwise I think you just have to suck it up (not the birth pool water though ) and pay the £25.
