Burning when I wee post childbirth - any advice?

I gave birth last Sunday. I was at home and didn't tear at all. Felt okay at the beginning of the week but I'm now experiencing an agonising burning sensation when I pee. Could I have developed cystitis? Does anyone know if this is common post birth? Am finding it very hard to move around as am in quite a lot of pain. My midwives looked at me on Friday and assured me that I don't have an infection and that was looking in good shape. So why does it hurt so much? Is this just to be expected a week after giving birtth, regardless of not tearing. Please let me know

I think that despite not tearing you are probably bruised or grazed which the midwives might still class as being in good shape. Have you tried pouring a jug of lukewarm water over the area while you are peeing - this will dilute the urine and reduce the stinging. I kept a plastic measuring jug in the bathroom. Alternatively I was advised (and confess to doing it a couple of times) to try weeing in the bath.
