Anyone hated Tens machine in first labour, but it worked in other labours?

Hired a tens for the birth of DD and absolutely hated it! No pain relief - just felt like hundreds of tiny teeth were nibbling my back!

DD was back to back, so don't know if that was why it felt that way?

Am hoping to have a HB this time round and wondering whether it's worth hiring one this time round? I'm also using natal hypnotherapy, G&A, and may also consider diamorphine if I'm desperate.

I would say if it felt like that it was turned up too high

however I used a natal hypnotherapy cd second time around and found I didn't need any pain relief whilst I was upright

good luck :)

I'm hoping the natal hypnotherapy will make all the difference!

Tens was rubbish for me - just didn't seem to make a bit of difference at all. Only remember the sensation I mentioned in post - but am sure that I fiddled with it, and it just never seemed to do bugger all.
