2nd labour starting the same as the first?

just curioius really,

DS = 9am waters/show while on the loo at 38+ was like an episode of little britian and glad I was on the loo. labour started right away apparently only 10% start this way.

slightly worried that no 2 might be at night/middle of the day when i'm out with DS & I have a 'gush' again.

Not for me so far!
DD waters went 6am at 38+4 no contractions, semi induced with gel
DS (in progress) show and non painful contractions all yesterday (40+5) more show and painful contractions (tens machine on) today (40+6) waiting to see what happens next...

They did for me...

DD1 slow non-painful contractions for 2 days, then 7hr active labour.

DD2 slow non-painful contractions for 2 days, then 4hr active labour.

Not for me:

DD - like the OP waters went in a torrent at 5 am and mild contractions started pretty immediately, continued slowly all day and was eventually augmented with syntocin as was only 5 cm at 9 or 10 pm.

DS - a little show and moderate contractions started at 9am, picked up steadily and was admitted to labour ward at 4pm at 4cm. Waters were broken at 8.45 pm (a torrent again!) and he was born in the pool at 9.28pm.

Yup, pretty much the same. Widely spaced non-painful contractions, moving into irregular intense back contractions. But first was horrid and full of interventions. Second a lovely homebirth.

with me it was nearly the same way it started, but ended differently

dd1 waters broke but no contractions for hours, took 29 hours to have her.

dd2 waters broke and got contractions 3 mins apart within half an hour, but had to have emcs so dont know how long it would have taken with no 2.

All 3 of mine started differently- with ds, my waters broke spontaneously, went into labour over 24 hours later; with dd1, I lost my plug, labour started later that day; with dd2, no plug, no waters, just increasingly painful contractions!!! So no pattern at all!!!

Very similiar for me but DC2 much quicker:

DS: waters broke at 38+1 at 7pm, contractions started after midnight, next day by 2pm still only 3cm dilated, was augmented, DS born 5.30pm (so 38+2)

DD: lost plug at 38 wks, waters broke at 38+1 at 1.30pm (I was in bed napping), contractions started 2pm, was 6-7cm dilated by the time I got to hospital at 3.30pm, DD born 5.30pm

I had very similar experiences with DC1 and DC2. My waters went without warning, luckily I was at home both times. I had fast labours (3 hours first time, 2 hours second time) but both times contractions were not really painful until after the midwife had examined me. I think all the rummaging around must get things going!

With DC3 I needed an elcs but I was experiencing regular tightenings for a day or 2 beforehand. Possibly I was about to go into labour, in which case that would've been quite different for me.
