C section stitches after 10 weeks

Hiya, I had csection around 10 weeks back. Midwife removed the stitches 5 days after - she did have some difficulty in doing so. After that I had series of infection and three of different antibiotics. Now scar has healed and most of darkish material has disappeared, I see full length of stitch running across the csection and a loop at the end of it. The material seems to plastic and blue in colour.

Anyone know if these are supposed to be dissolving kind and havent dissolved or the midwife didnt remove my stitches? Kind of getting worried now as it took so long to heal and now stitches are still there... anyone faced similar isssue? many thanks

I don't know sorry, I had staples to close my wound, but had a reaction to the metal so I've had infection after infection in the staple sites. It's grim. Have you been seeing your GP for the infections? If they have looked at it, I'm sure they would have seen what you describe.

If i were you I would go to your GP and ask them to check it.

My doctor did have a look at it 2 weeks back as part of post natal appt. He didnt say anything about left over stitch. it wasnt visible until yday ( to me anyway ) when I noticed it after a shower. I guess I will get a GP appt

That's not right. I would go to Maternity Unit (or to A & E, frankly, if you face a wait).

You should not be able to see stitches. Internal stitches are well under your skin wound and dissolve anyway, certainly 10 weeks after the op.

I had a c-section 10 weeks ago and there are no visible stitches now, so I would say get to GP or maternity unit, or speak to a health visitor for more advice.

You can't go to the mat unit ten weeks postnatal, you'll have to go to your gp.

It sounds from the description like a praline bead which is one long stitch which doesn't dissolve. But that would have been easily visible at the time, plus you wouldn't have other stitches that the midwife had to take out. Very odd. Let us know what your gp says, I'm very curious.
