Hi,
I had my DS 9 days ago via emergancy C-Section. I am feeling great in myself, but am still bleeding rather alot. At day 5/6 it had nearly stopped, but now its really quite strong again, plus its quite smelly (sorry TMI)! Confused
Anyone got any ideas how long one should normally bleed for or any previous experience of such issues!

Post emcs I bled quite heavily for about a week to 10 days and then on and off for a further 7 weeks. Towards the end it was just like spotting. Very annoying but normal apparently. If you over do it bleeding can begin again - so take it easy.

If it is quite smelly it can be a sign of infection so might be worth speaking to the midwife, gp or health visitor?

I thought having had a c section I wouldn't bleed for that long but I did...

I bled for about 2 weeks, which I believe is a fairly short time.

I don't remember it being smelly though. Could you talk to your midwife about it? I know it feels a bit embarrassing, but they really have seen and heard (and smelt!) it all before.
