going into fast labour in central london..can you call an ambulance?

I have precipitous labour and expecting a rather fast one this time. My husband is terrified I will give birth in the car since I nearly did last time. Especially if its during traffic...it may take a while for him to get to me or for us to get to the hospital.

When i asked the midwife she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "its not like the baby will just fly out, just come to the hospital when you start the contractions" She just brushed me off.

Can you call am ambulance and ask them for a ride if its during traffic? will they take you to your hospital or just the nearest one (which i did not chose for a reason)

They will take you to nearest hospital
And for precipitous labour, I think it is reasonable to call ambulance
Your m/w was not fair giving you adequate support
What about a home birth? It might happen anyway that way

Yes of course they will you to hospital. if it's fast labour call them.

A friend had no. 1 in an ambulance. Even though the nearest hospital was 5 minutes away they took her to the one she was booked in at. (She had booked out of the nearest hospital (RF) at 36 weeks due to being very unhappy with it.) They did have to argue with the ambulance for a while though. Baby was born in ambulance in car park of the hospital she was booked in at.

thats promising tigger... I thought it might be an argument though, still its good to know if it happens at 6pm I can indeed call them.

I still dont know why the midwife would not discuss it with me. Maybe next time I will see someone else.
