BUMPING FOR YOU.

vickiyumyum · 22/11/2005 20:11

do you have other symptoms as well. e.g swelling, protein in your urine etc?

not heard of anyone being induced for blood pressure alone unless it was over 100 for the bottom figure e.g 170/102. and then admission to labour ward if over a certain gestation with drugs to try and control blood pressure, or if below that gestation then seen by gp or consultant and prescribed tablets to control the blood pressure.

My friend was induced last week due to high blood presure and protein in her urine, she was 38 weeks and was in and out of hospital for weeks before because the couldnt decide to induce or not.

is it higher than 100 for the bottom figure? try having a look on midwivesonline.com they have help and advice for mums as well as midwives and you can email a midwife (i think they still have this option) failing that i would ring your midwife and ask for more information or your gp, because they should tell you why they recommend the induction and give you enough information to amke your own decision on your care.

i personally wouldn't be happy with the information that you have received so far and neither are you, or else you wouldn't be posting your question

hope it all goes well anyway and i'm sure that there is nothing to worry about as if ther was they would have had you in straight away.

if its just high bp and no other symptoms, it could be you're nearing going into labour naturally. my bp with dd was fine all the way through, then one day, it was high. waters broke the next day.

I had high bp n 1st pg, mine started lowish 100/60 so when it got to around something?/90 they worried, no other symptoms but they decided not to let me go past d-d so induced me when that arrived.

softmusk pls CAT me if you like
I had high bp but NOT pre eclampsia, I was threatened with induction by some dumb F doctor and insisted on seeing the consultant. he said to suggest induction for hbp alone would be "failing O level medicine." it makes no sense.
if you don't want to be induced, then say so. you can be given medication and wait and see.#good luck. CAT me if you like
