has anyone gone into labour with no show? Had one with previous two pg's but wondering whether possible to go into proper labour without one.

I did. Nothing. And my waters were trickling, so it took a while to realise what was happening...

FlibbertyJibbett · 25/06/2011 19:47

My waters started trickling first. Show came about 5 hours later. I had a few contractions that night and was then induced the next morning. Dd was born the day after that Hmm

i didn't have a show with ds2 or ds3

BertieBasset · 25/06/2011 19:49

i had no show with either of mine.

clayre · 25/06/2011 19:49

I never had a show with both pregnancies!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 25/06/2011 19:57

I don't remember a show. I remember niagra falls but not a show :)

Hormoneoverload · 25/06/2011 20:19

Thanks-just having twinges that feel as if they might develop (or could still be pg in a week!) but have had no show. Dd happened five days before, ds the night before, so labour with no show uncharted territory. Possible niagra falls washed away show?!!!

I had no show with dd2 and she was born in her water at term! Didn;t realise that was possible

Hormoneoverload · 25/06/2011 21:00

What were the chances of both happening?!I only know supposed to be lucky to be born in waters. Ds's broke as head came.

No show, no waters breaking (until the midwife got busy with her crochet hook) for each of my three.

AlmightyCitrus · 25/06/2011 21:17

Never had one with the first 3 dc's and only had one this time because I was induced and there were a great many people faffing around in my undercarriage.

Hormoneoverload · 25/06/2011 22:25

Well, i'm taking myself and my irregular slightly uncomfortable tightenings to bed! Really interesting to hear about all these "no show" labours. Let's see what happens here!

I didn't notice one with my daughter.

CountScoutula · 26/06/2011 15:58

I lost my mucous plug about two weeks before I had my daughter; a few days prior to due date, but went nearly two weeks overdue in the end. Had the bloody show just before I started pushing - the midwife told me, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed it.

Hormoneoverload · 26/06/2011 16:16

This is all so helpful! Makes me feel I'm not silly to think labour imminent despite no show. Think plug might have gone bit by bit. So... Curry last night. Pineapple tonight?

I had my "show" about 2 hours before ds arrived and had absolutely no symptoms of impending labour the day before at my mw appt (ds was barely engaged!). My contractions started in the morning 2-3mins apprt, show after my midwife examined me at 6-7cm and waters went 12mins before ds arrived.

This is not what was "What to expect...." so I pretty much ignored the contractions for the first few hours Blush

thingamajig · 28/06/2011 19:44

Had a show for dd1, but nothing for the twins.
