Has anyone had a midwife-led birth at The Portland?

I'm booked at the Royal Free right now but really want to switch to a private hospital as my US insurance will cover most of it. But I really wanted a midwife-led birth.... anyone had a midwife-led birth at the Portland or another private London hospital? My insurance won't cover a home-birth.

Have you considered the Birth Centre at Tooting. It's next to St George's (handy if transfer is needed) and I have heard good things about it. I haven't tried it myself though - am just TTC at the moment but have my eye on that place for when I am upduffed.

The Portland midwives are fantastic though they may have changed now as it is 6 years since I had my DS. I think the Birth Centre at Tooting has closed down.
