Back pain and strong tightenings in my stomach but no real stomach pains???

Could I still be in labour or is that just wishful thinking?
I am 40+5 and was told I was 4cm dilated on Friday morning, been having regular pains since, getting gradually worse and they feel like the back pains I had when I was in labour with DD but I feel like nothing is happening. My stomach is tightening up as the back pain gets more intense and my stomach feels uncomfortable but not unbearable like it was when I had DD (but she was induced which I have been told makes everything more painful)
When DD was born the midwife had to try a few times to break my waters, I was 10cms and DD was born about 10 minutes later, the midwife said they could have taken hours to go on there own. Could it be the same this time?
Thinking of ringing the midwife but don't want her to think I am being dramatic..
Sorry for the garbled post, just feeling really fed up with 4 days of constant pain Sad

Ican 40+3 with DC1 so not really one to give advice but didn't want to ignore your post. If I was you i'd give your mw a call, it certainly sounds like all the signs of labour but not having been there yet i'm not in a position to advise.
Goodluck.
