Weird pains from hips, up back and to top of head - early labour???

I'm 39 weeks today and have experienced this a couple of times today (about 4 hrs apart). A severe pain that starts somewhere in lower back/hips, then travels up the spine to the top of my head. Really quite painful.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I worry/hope that it's the start of labour? Or just ignore...

Thanks.

Hello BPrincess!

Ouch that sounds sore.... Doesn't sound like any labour pains I've ever experienced but then again these things aren't the same for everyone. Does your bump tighten when the pain occurs?

Maybe baby is lying in a position that might cause pressure on a nerve? Either way hope u are resting up & feeling better soon x

Thanks Thorny. I reckon I'll just have to wait and see. I'm probably just wishing it was the start of something... you're right it could be something to do with the way I'm lying as I was lying down both times it happened.
