aww, bless you! You're not going mad, you've got baby blues - it's just the hormones in your body getting back to normal after the birth.

you may well be short of sleep too.

congratulations on your dd. Is she beautiful? Grin

frida75 · 18/05/2011 19:25

Nope! Totally normal Smile At least thats what I did with ds 1 and 2! I came out of hospital late on christmas eve with ds1 and me and dh sat on the sofa with 'Little Donkey' playing on the radio and blubbed for hours!!

Happy crying is just as uncontrollable as sad crying I reckon. Enjoy these special times x

She is the most beautiful baby ever and this makes me just sit and sob as well!! Good to know other people have had the same!!

Hi scary, my son is a week old today and i was sobbing this morning because of that, its totally normal. I was crying because he is so perfect and tiny and i want to keep him small and safe forever!!

When ds was newborn I sat and cried about the day he would leave home...

galois · 18/05/2011 21:39

I did this with DC1. Day five - sobbed my heart out and dripped milk everywhere. I believe it's something of a rite of passage :o

DD is nearly six months old and I cry about a lot, from Britain's Got Talant to the idea that DD will be hurt by others' comments (inspired by a thread in chat) and I can't always protect her. Lots of cuddles with your gorgeous baby helps!

If someone can tell me the secret of toughening up, I'd be grateful!

Wait until you have to pack away the first lots of baby clothes because they are too small sob

Thanks for the advice, have managed two whole days with no tears!!
