Super baby wiggling and pelvic pain in evenings then nothing

I'm 40+1 and havent had any of the usual 'signs' of imminent labour, except this extreem baby wiggling between 11pm and midnight. Baby is very much engaged (has been for weeks) and now when it wiggles like this, I can feel my pelvis opening, nice sharp little pains down there, and have to breathe to keep myself from making other less helpful noises.

Last night and Wednesday I thought 'this might be it' only to go to bed, relax and fall asleep to wak up pregnant rather than in labour.

Are these wiggles/pains BH?
Is there something I should do to keep them going? (like not go to bed!)
Should I just ignore them? Any advice?

Sounds just like what my little one is up to. He went nuts when we were at the cinema last week, to the extent that it was getting pretty ruddy uncomfortable and DH kept looking across at me very nervously in case I was in labour!

It never feels like labour though - I get, completely separately, grumbly feelings like pre-period pain aches, so hopefully all the wriggling is softening things up!

I've never had braxton hicks, but I believe that it's more like a tightening over the whole uterus.
