of DS born Wednesday at 4pm, just after he was born in the pool. 9lbs he was.

Homebirth in water, 2.5 hour labour, no real pains until water popped 30 mins before he came out!

Beautiful pictures! He is absolutely gorgeous.

For a split second my poor 37 week pregnant brain thought he'd come out with the hat already on... Grin

Eglu · 13/05/2011 13:20

I am having home birth in Sept. Thinking of renting a pool that self-regulates. Which one did you have and would you recommend it?

NoCarbsBeforeMarbs · 13/05/2011 13:29

Ooh he's a little beauty!

Well Done and Congratulations! Smile

Meglet · 13/05/2011 13:32

mumatron · 13/05/2011 13:35

aaawwwwww! he is bloody lovely!!

makes me want another.

TotorosOcarina · 13/05/2011 15:38

bemy, its a 'made in water' la bassine one.

Its just inflatable, but comes with electric pump so is up in minutes, you just fill it from the tap.

I wouldn't bother with one of those ones you hire for 4 weeks, i can't imagine having it hnging around all that time!

its not hard to regulate the temperature, we just had a digital display thermometer floating in it and when it dropped a degree DH put the hose in and filled with hot water from the tap till it went back up.

when we were done theres a filter pump that empied the pool, dh put the liner in the bin and he took down the pol by deflating it with the hoover like a storage bag.

took about 40 mins to tidy away back into box!

Gosh how lovely - I hope I get to have a labour like yours! I think i'm going to get a birth pool in a box for my july homebirth. I'm thinking mine will be a 40 hour labour though (first baby). This wasn't your first, was it?

Frida75, of course he was born with the hat on. What do you think our babies do for those long 40 weeks? I can hear the click click clicking of the knitting needles sometimes...

Well done!

TotorosOcarina · 13/05/2011 16:22

No panda, my 4th baby, 3rd homebirth.

Only my first was born in hospital.

My first labour wa 6 hours and a induction which usually takes longer it seems so you shouldn't worry about a long labour, its not a given just because its your frst!

hope it all goes 'swimmingly' hehe... sorry, awful pun.

Awww - lovely, congratulations. Smile.

Just showing DD (2.10) who said "ahh, a sweet little baby" about the first pic, then "ahh, a little baby with lipstick on" about the second pic! Grin.

TotorosOcarina · 13/05/2011 20:32

yea, my DD asked if he had 'mip gloss' on too!
