So we went in on Monday, and after all that 'umming' and 'ahhing' over vba2c or elcs we went for the elcs. Baby girl was born at 10.42. She was 7lb 7oz (tiny compared to older DD and DS!) and is beautiful. I have had a bit of trouble with pain relief but apart from that everything has been fine. I think now it's all over with I'm pleased about my decision. Mainly because of the amount of time it took to deliver her. We were in theatre for well over an hour! I dread to think what may have happened in an emergency situation.

Midwife here will finish post later.

....Several days later

I was going to say that as mentioned in an earlier post I did ask the consultant if he would break my waters instead of doing the section. He really emphasised how dangerous this would be and said he wouldn't do it. I think in hindsight all the doctors are aware that a cs is safer if you've already had two. The midwives I saw who gave me conflicting advice, mean well and want their patients to be happy but perhaps don't base their advice on the few research/studies that have been done.

Anyway, there's no point in me constantly mulling it over. I'm healthy, baby is healthy and really I think that's all that matters.

Congratulations and stop worrying about it if you can Wink. You have done what needed on the day, this also includes making the decision that was right for you with the information and resources you had on the day. I am very 'tree hugging' when it comes to birth but as you said, you are a mummy with a beautiful baby in your hands and that is all that matters. Grin
