Do second-borns tend to arrive earlier than first-borns?

We're thinking about trying for DC2 but don't want it to arrive in Dec/Jan because of DH's work (I know...I know...you can't control everything Grin)

So really, now should be ok (if I got pg straight away, it would be due mid Feb)

HOWEVER - DS1 was born 4 weeks early, after a very speedy labour (45min Shock) the MW said that if we had a second it was likely to be earlier and speedier still!

Was she right?

DCs 1 and 2 both 2 weeks early, DC3 was a week late. DC1 quickest delivery, followed by DC3 with DC2 being the longest! Don't think there's a relationship. They come out when they're good and ready!

DD was 3 weeks early.

Nearly 41 weeks with dd2 and no sign of her yet!

DC1 arrived a day early.

I was induced at 42 weeks for DC2

DS was 10 days early, DD was an ELCS 2 days before her due date, so she was later than DS. I think it is random.

DD1 10 days early
dd2 2 days late
DS 10 days early

DD1 39 + 4
DD2 38 + 4

DD1 37 hour labour
DD2 caught me out with a 7 hour labour ( delivered at home on the bathroom floor!)
