Im interested to know how labour was for baby no4.. was it faster/slower than the others. was it earlier/later etc...

dd1 i woke up with hind waters trickling at 39+5, contractions started soon after. was fully dilated in 8hrs but had emcs due to failure to progress. lots of problems afterwards too.

ds1 i had a sweep at 40+1 and that night at 40+2 woke up with contractions 3 mins apart! I laboured at home until I was advised to got to hospital by my mum (midwife). was 9.5cm when i arrived at the hospital and had a successful vbac about 30 mins later. total labour was less than 3hrs. I had a 2nd degree tear, but a easy recovery really.

dd2 I woke up at 40+5 will strong contractions which i never had chance to time. By the time my stepdad arrived to watch the children and mum arrived to come to hospital with us i was having contractions on top of each other. I left straight away and 10 mins later dd2 arrived, luckily id arrived at hospital just in time. labour was fast and furious but only 50mins long. No tears.

Im 36+2 with baby 4 now and have been niggling for weeks. Having strong and sometimes painful braxtons..just like baby3! Would love to hear of others experiences xx

Watching with interest. I am 27 weeks with DC4, and had extremely fast labours with the other 3.

ds4 was induced at 40+12 as my waters had started to trickle and I had tested +ve for group b strep - had the drip - it was faster than my other 2 inductions (14 hours and 24 hours) as the drip went in at 1am and ds4 was born at 4am - I had had loads of very strong braxton hicks from about 36 weeks and was convincved he would appear around his due date. ds3 came on his own at 40+7 and the labour was 2 hours from start to baby. Each baby is different and chances are if you have fast labours it could follow that pattern.

DD1 waters broke 0400 (39 + 5) had been having regular managable contractions since midnight, born at 0700.
DD2 (39+5) a couple of mild contractions, dicky tum thought things might kick off later wanted to shave my legs so my mum came over. Within ten mins of her arrival waters went and I had the urge to push, was blue lighted to hospital crowned in the ambulance and was delivered on trolley. 50 mins from twinge to boob.
DD3 due to the above consultant thought induction at 39 wks to prevent another precipitous labour. Internal at 38 wks to check suitability for induction, next day twinges at 1600 went to labour ward to be told nothing doing after monitoring admitted to ante natal ward 1740. 1800 asked them to check again as I couldn't sit down. ARM'd 1820 - Midwife said I'm getting this hook out quick as baby's head is pushing it out".
DD4 I refused early induction as DD3 had been only 6,9 and this was another Scottish winter baby. Induced for SPD at 40 + 2 1st go - nothing! How shocked was I? The midwifes had a delivery pack ready and waiting. 2nd go - query failed induction after no changes, they tried to send DH home for the night, he refused. Lovely student midwife said I was contracting strongly 4 in 10 and nobdy believed her. They got me to a delivery room 2050 baby born 2100. Again not painful at all.
