Is there anyone who has had a positive VBAC with less than a year gap?
I know it doesn't mean I will be lucky, but it might reduce some of my worries related to the stupid gap I have left Blush

Hi Nunnie. I had a very successful home VBAC (though not a short gap), but I had great support from this email group - many hopeful VBACers, midwives and doulas giving great advice. You join and then send and receive group emails.

No, I'm sorry. I had 17 month gap. But the VBAC wasn't easy, posterior and so on and still no catastrophe. Does that help? Good luck.

I have had a VB with my first, the 1st and 2nd stage was great but the 3rd stage failed and I had to have manual removal in theatre.
Thank you for the group link I will go and join now.
That is helpful thank you, as long as your DC came out vaginally I think it can be classed as a success, even if it didn't feel like it at the time.

Am I the only stupid person who has fallen pregnant again so soon?

I had very successful VBAC with DS2 after a 20 month gap and getting ready for, I hope, a 2nd VBAC after a 24 month gap. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to try for a VBAC. We have a midwife who is a VBAC specialist at our hospital, do you know if you have somebody similar you can talk to to alleviate your concerns?

nunnie · 05/05/2011 11:16

I don't have any major concerns abour it, but I can't seem to find anyone with a less than 12 month gap who has had a successful one probably due to the fact that I can't actually find anyone at all with a similar gap.

May i ask if the VBAC is your choice? I thought after one c section they recommended another due to risks etc?

nunnie · 05/05/2011 14:31

I originally wanted another section, but the hospital said that due to me having a previous natural birth and the fact that my EMCS was due to brow presentation and stage 1 had be successful and quick that there was no reason to not try as there is a good chance of success.
