Been having lots of BH contractions over the past few days and loads more discharge so thought I'd have a check and see if things felt the same inside don't ask me why!! My cervix is really soft and felt like if I could reach I could get my finger in it! Is this normal? I'm 37&3 with breech baby.

I'm no expert, but I think the cervix can slowly soften and dilate to 1 or 2 cm in the final few weeks of pregnancy prior to labour starting.

Quite normal Smile

With dd3 I was 2cm dilated from 39 weeks and she came at 42 weeks. Ds4 & 5 the cervix softened but didn't open much until labour, I don't think it's weird to want to know what your body is doing and why it does it. I find childbirth quite a fascinating subject and all the changes we go through. even though I'm on no'6 I still read as much about pg, labour, as I did with first. Knowing as much as poss about things that will or could happen I find actually helps you not to panic about them when or if it does happen!

I was 5cm dilated with my 3DC for at least 3 days before I delivered. No labour pains or anything till 1hr and 20mins before I had him.
