hi

I am currently on baby no' 2. Am 34 wks preg had 3 false calls. One at 27 wks, one at 31wks and one last wk. I have a SERIOUSLY bad cas of irritable uterus which sets my contractions off. Still feeling baby move ALOT but it's very low down like her hand are going to fly out of my fanjo!
Mid wife's at hosital and at GP don't think I will go the whole 40 wks but they kinda say it in a jokey way.....don't know whether to take them serious or not?
I've heard that seconds come early, what's the truth behind this?
Please can someone give me some advise or stories of there seconds?
Thanks

My 1st was born on time. (Well 2 days after due date)
My 2nd was born at 34.5 weeks.
If you're having symptoms like you describe, it does sound like you might not go to full term.

Don't worry about it too much.
My DS was 2400 gr and 48cm. He could breathe unassisted (after a false start) and was fine.

my first was born at 37+5. I am currently 40+9.

wow, ruth 2400g is really good for that gestation!

BellaBearisWideAwake · 30/04/2011 20:42

My first was 37+2, my second 39+6. I was so prepared for another early one!

All mine were early, though dd1 only a week. Dd2 was 3 weeks early after a scare at 30 weeks. Ds1 was 2 weeks early after a scare at 34 weeks, and ds2 was 4 weeks early after trying to come at 30 weeks.

Ds1 was engaged from 28 weeks as well.

My sister also had 4 children but they were all late

Ivy: Yes, I think he would have been a big one if he'd gone to term. As it was, he came out as a skinny little thing!

Tamdin · 30/04/2011 20:50

Ds1 was due date (16 hour labour) ds2 was born at 39 weeks and came so fast he was nearly delivered in the hospital car park!

Isthreetoomany · 30/04/2011 20:53

DD1 was 14 days early.
DD2 was 10 days early, but I'd had a couple of weeks of the irritable uterus/contractions going on beforehand.

bessie26 · 01/05/2011 05:10

DD1 33+5
DD2 40+6

I was really worried DD2 would arrive early too & asked a similar question to you

I was given extra scans at around 30wks & steroid injections at 33wks just incase it did come early, but ended up having her after my MW gave me a sweep!

SavannahRose · 01/05/2011 19:22

I've not had any steroid injections.....but these false calls are really getting me down :( just either want them to stop or for baby to make her appearance x

The steroid injections were to help baby's lungs form incase it came before 34weeks. As you are 34wks already you won't need them.

Ruth DD1 was 2.33kg (5lb 2oz) at 33+5 - everyone joked about what a whopper she would have been if she'd gone to term & I got to experience that last week, DD2 was 3.9kg (8lb 12oz) at 40+6!

IM on baby #4 and also suffering with a seriously irritable uterus. I have contractions all the bloody time and it drive me mad. sometimes they become painful and regular then die off. Ive been having this for weeks and weeks since about 20ish weeks....im now 35+5 and still expecting baby to come every day.Its so frustrating and disheartening i know. Totally sympathise, big hugs xxx
I had similar with baby 3 but it started later around 30 odd weeks.I also had polyhydramnios and was told i most likely wouldnt hit 35 weeks, but she was 5 days late!!!
None of mine have been early im afraid..
dd1 39+5
ds1 40+2
dd2 40+5
ds2 35+5 and counting
xx
