I'm 41 weeks and had a sweep this morning - Bishops score was 5.. Just wondered what other people's experiences were of how effective their sweeps were -especially with a similar score?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've had about 10 sweeps and none of them worked. Sorry! Never had a bishops score of more than 4 though.

ah ok, did you get much in the way of pains afterwards?

Nope, no cramps, nothing.

Watching with interest, I'm having one on Tuesday!

A couple of my friends have had them & they both went into labour that night so I'm hoping it does the trick!

I had a sweep with DD - first baby - nothing happened at all. Cervix was 'favourable' apparently.

My sister recently had a sweep, baby was born within 24 hours. She was 41+2. This was her second baby.

Oooh how exciting lucie! Do let us know what happens! [nosey]Grin

Can I do a slight hijack? I was wondering what was likely to happen immediately after the sweep? I usually walk to/from the surgery - it's only 15-20mins, but am wondering if it's wise to do that?!!

I have had 2 sweeps I think it depends how your cervix is looking to be honest. I had cramps both times and they then went away after a day/night. It sucked as I thought it was going to happen the first time. That was 2 weeks ago now Im no 41 + 5 and due to be induced on Friday at 9am. Getting very fed up and soooo uncomfortable.

I wish people luck with thier stretch and sweeps and hope they work. I had no bishops score but I was 2 cm dilated soft cervix which was central and 1cm thick. I think it should of worked but it did not! Boo Hoo!

Good luck everyone Wink
