When does linea nigra fade?

12 weeks postpartum and I've still got a distinct dark line running down my belly. My belly button is also still sticking out, it looks like a little nose. Is it ever going to go away?

Sorry can't really tell you, as I'm expecting my first, but I've always had a linea nigra even before pregnancy. Now it's just got darker and also goes above the belly button when before it just reached there.. So chances are, it'll never complitely fade away..

Mine is nearly gone now - my babies are almost 6 months.

I didn't get a line until I had them though! I suppose it just wasn't visible on the stretched skin, but on my post-twin mummy tummy, it became quite obvious.

Six months post partum.

Did anyone get much darker skin and when did that fade? Sorry scubamummy for hijacking your thread!

mine faded around 6 months after DC1, I think. I remember thinking whether it was ever going to go away.. it eventuallt started gradually getting lighter, same as nipples..

I've still got mine babies are nearly six months although I've only got it above my belly button, underneath has mostly fadly Confused

KittieCat · 19/04/2011 10:15

Mine has pretty much gone at four months.

NichyNoo · 19/04/2011 14:36

DS is 8 months and I've still got a faint line above and below belly button

CherryPie3 · 19/04/2011 14:58

{we were on the same Aug a/n thread)

My line is below my bellybutton and is still very there! Doesn't seem to be fading very quickly at all. In fact I'm betting it will still be there when/if I get pregnant again :)

Small thread hijack about to happen....apologies in advance!

Nichy Not sure if you were aware but we have a post-natal thread here if you fancy a chat :)

Hijack over - thank you!

It stayed for ages and ages, I only noticed it had gone when I was pregnant again when bump started growing (looked odd to have a bump with no line!), so I am guessing it properly went at about 10/11 months.
