Just interested as i'm 37+1 withh baby number 5 and ive been having bits of bloody snot coming away since Thursday night. I've never had a show before! But my first baby was induced slightly early and the subsequent ones all arrived at 40+6 so was really not expecting anything before my due date!

Im very crampy and bump feels so low tis going to fall out! Was having a few stronger contractions last night but nothing regular and nothing that made me think anything was happening.

Thanks

Mine was Monday and still waiting.....EDD was Tuesday.

Have been told it can be 2 weeks.

Good luck!

Immediately.

Sparklies · 16/04/2011 16:26

10 minutes later! Well, my hindwaters went about 10 minutes later and with them labour came, and boy did it come.. the joys of precipitous labour!

Bunbaker · 16/04/2011 16:27

Seven hours. I had a show in the morning and my waters went with a pop at 2pm.

chirpchirp · 16/04/2011 20:30

Had show at 8am Saturday, Contractions started 1am Sunday, baby arrived 6 hours later.

Wigeon · 16/04/2011 20:30

Paschaelina · 16/04/2011 20:34

Brasso4 · 18/04/2011 08:33

Show was 12 hours before first contractions and about 48hours before my DD was born.

LadyWithNoManors · 18/04/2011 08:33

Hmm well im still here... Lost more over the weekend, getting random contractions now amd again plus low down period type pains but nothing major.

Dh is away tonight with work so really hoping nothing happens... Would be sodding typical though!

I only had a show with last one & contractions started immediately.

DinosaurRumpus · 18/04/2011 15:39

Doesn't sound like it will be long now Smile

I was like that with DC4. Show on Monday, more on Weds, lots of niggles, random contractions etc.... Very stop-start. Finally had her on the Friday!
Be warned though, after a week of niggles, when things finally kicked off it moved very fast!!

Might be worth having a back up plan with ypur DH away!

Good luck xx

Mine was last Monday now, still nothing

frakyouveryverymuch · 18/04/2011 17:07

What does a show actually mean anyone? I know it must be something to do with cervical movement but is it effacement/actual dilation/moving from posterior to anterior position?

peanutdream · 18/04/2011 17:51

its the mucus coming away from the cervix as it starts moving isn't it?

mine was 12 hours before first contractions and 5 days before ds was born

frakyouveryverymuch · 18/04/2011 18:11

It is mucus coming away but I wondered whether it was a proof positive sign of dilation or whether the move from posterior facing would trigger it/effacement would loosen the mucus.

Pootletrinket · 18/04/2011 20:09

No idea, would be interested though!!

MrsRyanReynolds · 18/04/2011 20:12

A week exactly

BlueChampagne · 20/04/2011 13:43

Didn't notice a show with either of mine.

ChopMonster · 25/04/2011 08:21

I started losing my plug at 35 weeks but didn't have a bloody show until my waters went at 39+1.

AnaYorks · 25/04/2011 18:04

Not until actually in labour.

marzipanlover · 25/04/2011 21:15
