What does this all mean? cervix central, 1cm long, 2cm dilated,pp-3 im 40 +4 weeks!

Just wondered what all this means? I think I understand 1 cm long Cervix and 2cm dilated but what is the pp - 3? I have not seen it before. Also my cervix is soft. I have also had my 2nd stretch and sweep today just wondered if anyone else is in a similar situation?

It's to do with the 'Bishops Score' which indicates how far along you're heading into labour, which I think helps them determine about what methods of induction to use. See link:

PP means the presenting part palpable the -3 is the position of the head in the pelvis it means the head is 3cm above the 2 bony spines in the pelvis, which they use to gauge how engaged your baby is.

it sounds good for 40+4 i think? i would guess you will prob not end up having to be induced hopefully, not that I know much about what all the numbers mean but both of mine they said cervix unfavourable etc at even 41 weeks but still one of them just managed to come out just before being induced, so i think yours sounds better? hopefully the 2nd sweep will help it along

Ahhh thanks ladies. Will check that link out once I have written this. Sounds stupid but I kinda thought the stretch and sweep would of worked by now. never been in such a hurry for pain!! What wrong with me!! I think the EDD should be a week not a day it makes you paranoid! Thanks for all the reassuring feedback. My DS is off school now as of tomorrrow so have him to entertain as well as feeling poo!! Joys! Another reason I want baby out is to get my body back and hope to do a few things with my DS. Just been the loo and some discharge with blood has come out. Not had that before Had my mucus plug come out last week this stuff look different.
