I've had contractions of varying degrees since thursday afternoon... how many hours were you befoe you hit the magic 5min admittance? I feel like my body gets to 6.5mins for most of the day, then a couple of hours at 6 mins, then packs up back to 10 cm again, but still same strength level. Its getting tedious... wondered how many more hours / days I'm likely to be looking at!!!!
I'm booked in for induction tues if all else fails, but had hoped to avoid that...

Could your LO be OP? My induction failed because DD was OP (they didn't tell me at the time!) and I had 2.5 days of ctx that got no where - went from 1 ctx in 15 minutes to every 4 minutes at the peak. Probs a bit different as they were artifically induced (pessaries) though.

I had very long latent phases both times, about 48 hours the first time and 30 odd hours the second time and both times went from 1cm to fully dilated very quickly. Hard to say whether things will work for you or not but if they aren't stopping then that's probably a good sign! Have you tried going for a walk or bouncing on a birth ball?

I know how you feel. This has been going on for over a week now for me. Im so fed up and tired. They seem to come at stupid times as well trying to rest but have 5 yr old to sort out as well. Im tired and a mess and grumpy and not funt to be around! How you finding the sleep or pattern of contractions? Mine come and get regular can last all day then get more intense then just go. All of the week on and off now Im getting really tired. I do wonder if there is anything they can do? Im due for a stretch and sweep on Tues. I really hope the induction works for you. I love being oregnant but towards the end when it like this you just get to the point where enough is enough!! And you want to see the baby. I hope baby comes soon. Smile

Hi.
Both my babies were back to back, so came out the wrong way.

First contractions started 7pm on the weds night. Continued through out that night and next day. Started to get more frequent on the thursday afternoon and finally went to hospital that night. Was examined at 9pm and was 3cm dilated. She was born 4 hours and 50 mins later on the friday morning at 01.50am

Second baby- contractions started on the friday afternoon at around 3pm (whilst picking eldest up from preschool- but had mild cramp like pains for a couple of hours before then). Started to get a lot more painful but not lasting very long. Was examined at hospital at 12am ,and was 5cm dilated. Baby was born at 01.45 am so less than 2 hours after getting to the hospital.

Good luck
