I was induced with ds1 and ds2. The second time around was actually a lot better than the first. Things started happening much more quickly and I was only in labour for about 6hrs (compared to 40hrs with ds1).

I have been induced three times (first and third time because my waters had broken). The first time was painful but I got an epidural so that helped a lot. The second time was awful but is a whole different story as I was only just over half way through my pregnancy and we lost our son (we knew it was not going to be a viable birth so I think the pain of that overtook any physical pain iyswim. The third time for me was very bad, but I think it was the doctors fault it got so bad. I was induced with a drip about 4pm, and at 10pm was only getting very very mild contractions. The doctor told the nurse to increase the amount of drip coming through. The nurse told the doctor she didn't think it was a good idea to increase it so much so quickly as I had been induced twice before. The doctor completely ignored her and told her to do what she was asked to do. Anyway, by 11pm my contractions were coming really fast. I asked for an epi and they said hospital policy was that if you were

i had the same experience as coppertop, my second induction was much better. with ds (my first), i was in labour for 24 hours & he was a forceps delivery (including episiotomy) after they failed to get him out with a ventouse. with dd, i was only in labour for 7 hours & i pushed her out myself in 5 minutes. she was a pound smaller though .

i had epidurals both times. the second one was much better, it allowed me to feel the contractions but not the pain whereas the one i had with ds numbed me completely.

good luck!

yes, went 16 days over with ds, i started to contract overnight and lunch next day they did ARM, then then put on drip which was awful and contractions were like being driven into a brick wall, they came incredibly fast and with hardly any gap between them.

hi, i was induced for pre eclapmsia with ds1 and was hyper stimulated by the prostin gel.he was born 3 hrs later fighting for his life and had to be ventilated.it was an awful experience and i had nightmares for a year afterwards. with ds2 i was induced again at 39 weeks due to high bp, but this time they just did a sweep and ARM 2 days later.ds 2 was born 2 1/2 hrs later with no further intervention, no drip or anything.the midwife said it was a textbook birth, and that i was a natural and she wished all of her ladies births were like that, promptly followed by a kiss and a hug!! it just goes to show that no two births are the same. by the way, i have been told by a reliable source that there is an anti-dote to the drip they use to bring on contractions, should it be needed.
