birthpool bits and pieces

I'm 36+3, and put my birthpool up to check for punctures and give it a good clean today (last time I used it was outdoors and DH didn't do a particularly good job at cleaning it...lol).
I also thought I'd check the tap attachment, because we've moved house and now have a mixer tap that has a rounded top.
Well, I was right to do that, because the attachment doesn't fit.
I don't even know if there is an adaptor that fits the rounded kitchen mixer taps? any ideas?

also, do I really need a sieve? would it be a good idea to get a pump-thingy to empty it?
DH thinks we can just use DC1's nappy bucket to fill it with, but that'll take AGES...

so much to do, so little time.

You should be able to find an attachment for a round tap if you have a good hardware shop locally.

Tesco for a 99p sieve

New liner for pool itself? You can order them online, they aren't expensive.

If you don't have a pump for emptying, make sure your DP is happy to risk a mouthful of contaminated water priming a siphon (bleurgh!)

Filling / emptying with nappy buckets will take DAYS.

That's what I thought. DH says "Don't be stupid, it won't take that long". my first labour was 4 hours from start to finish, if he fills the pool like that he won't be done before I'm showered and dressed again, I expect :o

I was considering a liner, wasn't really planning on using one because I worry about how comfortable it'll be in case it creases, but might be for the best.

By round tap I mean that the head is curved, like an arch, not the tap being round.. was that what you meant? The tap attachment I have at the moment is one of those things that goes all the way round the tap and then screws shut, but with the curvature of our tap you can't screw it shut because there isn't a top bit it can hold on to..
