When did you start raspberry leaf tea? How many cups per day did you have? Did this help your labour?

started with it at around 35 weeks when pregnant with DD2. DD2 was born 15 days late (without induction) BUT the labour was just 3-4 hours with a 10 min pushing stage. not sure if it was due to the tea though.

I got really hooked - I love the taste of the tea:o

I swore by it with both pregnancies.

Think I started it around 35 weeks, it most definitely helped with the pushing stage (it tones your uterus muscles). Pushed DD1 out in under 4 minutes, DD2 pushing stage was ">1" on my medical notes!

I bought the loose tea and made it up using a coffee cafetiere. I used to leave it to brew for a good 15 mintues to get it really strong.

Drank a big mug once or twice a day. Added loads of honey to sweeten it.

100% recommendation from me Smile

Opposite view here! Started around 36 wks, had 2 mugs (teabags) a day until 41 wks when gave up on everything I was doing to try and aid labour and was sick to death of the taste! I made no progress in 2nd stage labour and needed assisted delivery so I can't recommend unless you like the taste.

35 weeks-one cup a day increasing by one cup per week until I was at 5 small cups a day.

Always got really strong Braxton Hicks contractions afterwards. My pushing stages with both children are recorded as 3 minutes and DD was back to back. So yes, definitely recommend.

Started at about 34 weeks and after disliking the first mug it grew on me and I was drinking about 3 mugs a day (with honey) at 36 weeks, DS born 38+3 and pushing stage was brilliant, about 5 pushes and he was out (and was first DC) Grin

What is the best raspberry leaf tea to get? There are quite a lot of different types...apparently 'red' raspberry leaf isn't as good as others?? Confusing...

35 weeks.
Clipper is delicious.
Baby was 1week late, but labour was short and bearable.
It's tasty so worth a try.

I recommend it too, I had it with DCs #2&3 & both times the MWs commented how quickly my uterus seemed to contract back to size post natally. Sorry can't remember when I took it from but around about 36wks I think is about right.

Thank you very much for your responses! Will give it a try!

I've started 2 weeks ago (am 34 weeks today) having one cup a day. Am planning to slowly increase the number of cups a day.

36 weeks both times. Both DDs 11 days late, labour (including latent phase) with DD1 was 48 hrs, with DD2 34 hrs. Pushed for over an hour with them both. I think it's a bunch of woo but the ready mama one tastes quite nice. Anything's worth a go!

I can't bear the taste of herbal tea but was planning to try the tablets. Does anyone have experience of using them?
