Did you feel any different, groggy? restless? or did labour just come on with no warning?

Thanks!

Just came on with no warning, twice.
First time waters broke with no warning one evening.
2nd time I'd been at playgroup in the morning and Tesco shopping in the afternoon with little un. Then bang, no waters breaking, but contractions started (I was home by then). 2 hours later DD2 was born.

Not at all, no warning here!

I had a migraine and was being sick the whole night before, had had a sweep that day and wetn in next morning to be induced (but was already contracting so would have got there on my own IYSWIM) had pre-eclampsia though...

I'd had what felt like period pain on and on off for a day and a half before contractions started properly. The pre-labour ones weren't THAT painful, but uncomfortable enough to keep me up most of the night before I went into labour, which wasn't great...

I had really strong braxton hicks (which looking back were probably very early contractions). I was very hungry and baby was particularly quiet - I'd been in for monitoring the night before as she was so quiet.

2nd birth, I felt the urge to make the baby's bed [cradle] with sheets and blankets ,even though he wasn't due for another 9 days. I woke up in labour.
3rd birth, I felt a bit tired and fluey the evening before. Just wanted to lay on the setee and not be bothered.

With my 3rd I also felt the urge to wash all the bottles and set up my steriliser before I went to bed, even though I had no physical symptoms of labour. I woke up at 5 am with contractions, so I expect it was instinct.

Hmm. Not def in labour yet but I've been having increasingly serious pre labour cramps all night and yesterday pm felt strangely tired and hungry with slightly dodgy tummy and (for the first time since pregnant) freezing cold feet.

Like tigerlion I'd been in for monitoring the night before DD was born because she'd been so quiet all day.

With DS I'd definitely been nesting the day before but didn't feel any different on the day.

clarebear1 · 20/03/2011 21:37

Oooh fingers crossed! Ive been sterilising today :-)

I felt like I really needed a poo but couldn't go when I went to the loo, this was followed by mild back pain. I was in hospital being induced so I knew what the back pain was but the poo thing was a bit of a surprise - baby's head - obvious now.
