Just being nosey really - I'm guessing its mostly after 12 weeks.

I know my BIL and his gf started getting nappies and wipes etc on each shopping trip.

Gotta sit down with my OH sometime soon and start working out our budget!

We agreed not until 20wk scan. But it was prob at about 16 wks as we started to see things cheap and it would of been silly not to of got them.

But yes deffenatly little and often is a great way to do it without it being a huge hit!

Enjoy shopping! :)

I've already bought a cute little babygro and a snowsuit and we've not started ttc yet!

I bought all baby clothes at 20 weeks (only because they were on a gigantic sale in New York, and DH was going there)... Then bought nothing until 32 weeks (now); this week I ordered all other baby stuff (including nursery furniture and pram) from John Lewis and Mamas & Papas in one go, but won't have it delivered until April. I think it is definitely good to do some research in advance and speak to people to determine what you really need and want, and how much you want to spend... Enjoy!

I had a load of stuff before we had even started trying....
before we had even decided that we would be trying, knowing that one day we would just hadnt finalised it

im now 15 weeks and have rather alot. dont have any baby clothes though, and i have not bought anything at all new / full price. Only bargains too good to miss as and when ive come across them

BIL's advice was don't buy anything until 6/7 months as that's when your neighbour's sister's friend etc all come out of the woodwork to give you what you need. Which they did! Helps if you know people with children - neighbour came round with 4 binliners of lovely clothes their daughter had been given for her baby!

Did pick up some bargains and pregnancy stuff after the 23 week scan was OK, though.

Usually never before 28 weeks, but that's due to anxiety over previous losses and/or current high risks!

I like to hit "pretty-good-chance-of-survival" before spending the money, especially as plenty of places only have a 30 day return policy!

Didn't order big stuff until 32 weeks. Bought stuff I wanted/was cheaper in the UK when I went for a visit at 22 or so but that was stuff that we knew we'd want one day anyway IYSWIM and it was bargainous compared to where we live.

At around 23 weeks

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 19/03/2011 17:02

Pretty late on, maybe 30 weeks. But I was given loads and had very little to buy.
