Hi, baby born 15 days ago no issues. My lochia had totally tailed off to nothing bar brown end of period style gunk however just had a sudden gush of bright red blood and soaked a pad. Is this normal. No pain just gave me a fright. Should I be concerned?

Had you just done something fairly energetic? (lots of walking, hoovering, carrying car seat etc)

FWIW my bleeding went to almost nothing after 2-3w but carried on with occasional 'gushes' for 7-8w (longer with DC3). Was never a problem

But call your GP if you are worried

Been pretty active since the birth but hadn't done anything exciting today .No hoovering lol ... Had just fed the baby. This is no3 for me also. TBH I was feeling rotten last night but full of beans today.

Are you bf? I used to get a bit of a gush after a long feed

Yup breast feeding and had noticed I bled more after a feed but honest I have only needed pantie liners for last day and was actually thinking - may be up for a bit if bedroom action soon!
