Periods after birth, what do you use?

I have just started my first period after DD's birth in December. I used to use tampons, but it is a bit painful so I'm using my leftover maternity pads. My question is, will I ever be able to use tampons again as I much prefer them?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes you will - I think it takes a lot longer to get back to normal and heal than HV's and GP's often lead to you to believe.

I must admit I never found tampons as comfortable post children, I could wear them but I prefered STs where before DC I liked tampons sorry.

Yes, in my experience. Bit sore at first but after a short while no problem.

Dd is nine months now and I always use tampons, I even used a mini one and I had a forceps delivery so it should be fine!

thanks all, most reassuring.
